Frank F. Marsh, 84, lifelong resident of Arthur County, died March 29, 2016, in his home. Frank Frederick Marsh was born November 14, 1931 in rural Arthur County, Nebr., the son of Ira and Ida (Corlberg) Marsh. He received his education at the Arthur Schools. He entered the United States Navy in 1950 and served in the Korean War. Frank served on the Destroyers USS Irwin (DD 794) for almost a year, the USS Eaton (DD 510) for three years, and the USS Voge Sand (DD 710) for three months as a Boiler Tender. After discharge in 1954 he returned to Arthur and worked on the Marsh Ranch raising hay and cattle and also worked on other area ranches. He was employed at the Arthur Ranch Supply, a filling station and garage for several years. Frank was a good mechanic and inventor on his own machinery. He raised a garden and enjoyed the fresh tomatoes, cut firewood, and swept out his own chimney. He loved his pet kitties and loved living on his property, not wanting to be anywhere else. Frank supported and attended the home games of the Arthur Wolves football team. Preceding him in death were his parents, sisters: Inez Kohler, Irene Armstrong, Lois Shultz, and Lola Kofmehl; and brothers: Edwin, Cecil, Barton, Donald, and Allen 'Sam.' Survivors include his sister Roberta Kennedy of Sandy, OR and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m. in the Arthur Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Keene officiating. The Service will be live streamed from www.drauckerfuneralhome.com, for those unable to attend. Interment is in the Arthur Cemetery with military honors.
