Eloise Schmidt Obituary Eloise Marie (Bunch) Schmidt, 75, of Brule died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule with the Rev. Jon Dickmander officiating. Burial will be at Brule Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday at Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala, and before service time at the church. Eloise was born Dec. 11, 1943, in North Platte to Virgil and Bertha (Johnson) Bunch. She attended school in Ogallala. She was a Job's Daughter, and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1962. She attended Kearney State College. On Jan. 23, 1965, she married Robert Schmidt at the Ogallala Congregational Church. The couple made their home south of Brule for two years before moving to the current Schmidt homestead northeast of Brule. Through the years she was employed at Riedesel-Johnson Agency, Commercial Service, Gateway Insurance, Lacey Insurance and as a self-employed insurance agent. She then worked as a correspondent for the Keith County News for several years and was a part-time rural mail carrier. She was active in the church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir, 4-H, Girl Scouts, and was an avid fan of all her children's sports and activities, and later her grandchildren's activities. Survivors include her husband Robert of 54 years; daughters Kim (Tim) McKeon and Misty (Nick) Bristol, and son Marc (Lisa); brother Fred (Marie) Bunch; grandchildren Jessica, Dillon, Brenna, Sarah, Aiden and Derek; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harlow 'Dan' Bunch. Memorials are suggested to the church or the Brule Volunteer Fire Department.
