Eleanor Jean Austin, 82, of Sutherland, passed into the Lord's hands on Thursday, August 4, 2016, in the Sutherland Care Center. Jean was born in Scottsbluff, Nebr. on July 12, 1934, the daughter of Pete and Eva (Margheim) Hessler. She was raised in Scotts Bluff County. The mother of five sons, she devoted her life to raising her children. After working at the local cafe and Coldwater Fish Farms Inc. in Lisco, Jean retired to Sutherland. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, creating beautiful pieces treasured by her family and friends. Jean was an extraordinary woman, loved by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband Hobart 'Jack' Austin and her siblings: Reuben Hessler, Leroy Hessler, Darlene Johannes, and Dorothy Kauffman. Survivors include her sons: Rick (Rebecca) Youngs of Colorado Springs, CO; Bob Youngs of Sutherland; Steve (Joie) Youngs of Scottsbluff; Keith (Jeri) Youngs of Roscoe; and Kenny Youngs of Sutherland; one sister Loretta Kenyon of Escondido, CA and sister-in-law Elsie Hessler of Lodi, CA. Also nine grandchilden and eleven great-grandchildren. The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 20, at 2 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. Rev. Eric Wait of the New Hope Church will officiate. The Service will be live streamed from drauckerfuneralhome.com, for those unable to attend.
