Donna Miller Johnson, 77, of Phoenix, Ariz. and formerly of Carson City, Nev., died Friday, October 17, 2014, in her home. Donna was born February 11, 1937, in Paxton, Nebr., the daughter of Silas S. and Edith Gertrude (Mathers) Miller. Donna lived in Nebraska and Wyoming in her early years before moving to California in 1956. Donna married Alvin S. Johnson, Jr. on January 24, 1957 in South Laguna Beach, Cal. They lived in southern California for twenty years raising their two daughters. The family enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the west. They also lived in Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona. Donna loved raising and caring for her family and dedicated herself to also raising her grandsons, whom she and Alvin adopted. For many years she enjoyed caring for the elderly as a home health care provider and she was well-regarded in the field. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister Genevieve Carden. Survivors include Alvin, her beloved husband of 57 years of Phoenix, Ariz., two daughters Jackie (husband Tom) LeClaire of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Bunny Roper of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons: Lawrence Johnson and Brandon Johnson, both of Carson City, Nev. and Dustin Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz.; her sister Beverly Seldomridge of Rawlins, Wyo.; and two granddaughters: Rachel LeClaire (husband LTJG Samuel Arnold) of San Diego, Cal. and Julia LeClaire of Scottsdale, Ariz. Family and Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The Graveside Service will be Friday, October 24, at 10 a.m. in the Paxton Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Rager of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
