Diana J. Alcorn

Diana J. Alcorn, 64, longtime Ogallala resident, died Thursday, January 29, 2015, in the Ogallala Community Hospital. Diana was born February 22, 1950 in Monett, Missouri, the daughter of Roy L. and Ludella (Fritz) Conway. In 1956 she moved with her family to Commerce City, Colo. Diana graduated from Adams City, Colorado, High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to Marvin Alcorn, Sr. in July 1968. The couple made their home in Denver until 1973 when they moved to Fort Collins. They were employed by the A.F. Lavender Ranch . In 1975 they moved to Walden, Colo. and opened a restaurant named Teetos. In 1996 Diana moved to Ogallala and she was employed as a teller at Adams Bank & Trust until retirement in 2002. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, needlework, fishing, and bowling. Preceding her in death were parents, infant daughter Regina Sue Alcorn, son Marvin "Teeter" Alcorn, Jr., grandson Zachariah Colton Alcorn, and foster son Russell Whitten. Survivors include one brother Roy (Jan) Conway, Jr. of Ogallala; three sisters: Karolyn (Lowell) Moran of Walden, Colo., Lou Ella (Duane) Armstrong of Loveland, Colo., and Virginia (Ronald) Yeager of Ogallala. Three grandchildren: Stephen Alcorn, Paulyna Alcorn, and Noah Royal Alcorn, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 7, at 1 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Chapel. Rev. Robert Pierce of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Ogallala will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
