Dennis D. Dahnke, 68, of Ogallala, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in his home. Dennis, was born on June 26, 1948 in Stratton, Nebraska to Bob and Mary Ellen Dahnke. He grew up in the Stratton, NE area and datended Stratton Schools. Dennis moved to Ogallala where he worked for TRW then ASC for 41 years before he retired in 2015. He also worked part time for Bill Jehorek. Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors with family and friends. He was a member of the Ogallala Moose Lodge #1624 and the Keith County Fair Board. Dennis was always volunteering to help with the special events at the Lodge or Fair Board. He loved to go to Rodeos; College, High School or the PRCA. He loved to dance and watch all kinds of sports. Dennis help clean waterfowl at Armstrongs for the resident and non-resident hunters for many years. Dennis enjoyed going to the horse races in Grand Island with family. Survivors include his mother Mary of Stratton, three sisters Kathryn (Ben) Turpin of Taylor, NE Roberta Hall of Grand Island and Marilyn Bottorf of Marquett, NE. Serveral nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father Bob Dahnke and a niece Crystal Abbott. Memorial Services are Saturday, June 17th at 10:00 am MT from the Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala. Dennis Leitner of the Cross of Christ Church in North Platte Officiating. A memorial has been established to the Ogallala Moose Lodge. Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Stratton, NE at 4:00 pm CT. The Services will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
