Darline Evans

September 8, 1937 — February 14, 2015

Darline Evans, 77. longtime Ogallala resident, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, in Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Darline was born September 8, 1937 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Harvey and Dorothea (Ray) White. She attended school in Oshkosh. On September 11, 1955, Darline was united in marriage to Pfc Wyatt Evans and the couple resided in Chappell. Darline began a 51 year career in clothing dry cleaning in Feb. 1956. In 1973 Wyatt and Darline became owners and operators of Tip Top Cleaners in Ogallala. They retired after 34 years, closing the business in March 2007. Darline was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing, reading, and doing puzzles. Preceding her in death was her husband Wyatt, her parents, infant daughter Tammy, brother Floyd White and his wife Marilyn and sister Betty and her husband Ron McConkey. Survivors include her son Tony (Jen) Evans of North Platte, her daughter Cindy (Riley) Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska and five grandchildren: Zach Evans of Kearney, Brent (Jessie) Evans of Ogallala, Megan Evans of Denver, Colo., Kenyon Wilson and Calista Wilson, both of Anchorage, AK. Also three brothers: Kenny (Helen) White of Thedford; Ray (Sandy) White of Scottsbluff, and Lawrence (Pat) White of Florida. Two sisters: Pat (Rudy) Starke of Alliance and Dee Facchinello of Ogallala. Former daughter-in-law Sally (Charlie) Pankonin of Ogallala. The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 21, at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. The Service will be live streamed from www.methodistchurchogallala.com., for those unable to attend. Inurnment in Fort McPherson National Cemetery will precede the Memorial Service. A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church.
