Betty L. Chada

Betty L. Chada 86, of Sutherland and formerly of Brule, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, in the Sutherland Care Center. Betty was born May 22, 1930 at Haxtun, Colo., the daughter of John F. and Faith O. (Thompson) Holper. Betty received her education at Haxtun Public Schools, graduating from Haxtun High School in 1948. Betty was united in marriage to David Mathew Chada on February 5, 1949 at Paoli, Colo. The couple resided at Brule, Nebr. David was a brick mason and Betty was a homemaker and raised their family of five sons. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Brule and a member of the Women's Fellowship. Betty's hobbies included doing crafts, sewing and quilting. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband David M. Chada of Sutherland; and her sons David J. (Nancy) Chada of Rapid City, So.Dak., John L. (Vicki) Chada of Wichita, Kan., Ronald M. (Rhonda) Chada of North Platte; Bill R. (Dodie Schlueter) Chada of Salt Lake City, UT; and Mark J. (Amanda) Chada of Letcher, So. Dak. Grandchildren: Michelle (Brian) Moore, Nichole (Tracy) Knepp, Wendie (Kenny) Miller, Michael (Shannon) Chada, Christopher (Mary) Chada, Kerri (Paul) Kramer, Nicholas Chada, Meghan Chada and seven great-grandchildren. The visitation will be Monday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. in the Brule United Church of Christ, Congregational with the Revs. Lisa Hadler and Phil Ewert officiating. The Service will be live streamed from drauckerfuneralhome.com, for those unable to attend. Interment is in the Brule Cemetery following the Service.
