Betty Helt Obituary Betty Jean Helt, 86, of Cozad, formerly of Ogallala, passed away on Sunday September 19, 2021 in her home at Cozad, NE. Betty was born on September 21, 1934 to Frank and Vida (Peck) Sweet at Imperial, NE. Betty was one of 5 children, and one of three girls. Betty later moved to Ogallala where she met her love, Franklin 'Sonny' David Helt, Betty and 'Sonny'were Married on November 8th, 1986, and were married for 24 years before the passing of 'Sonny'. Betty received services from PAKS and later from South Central Development Center, of Cozad, where she made her home. Betty loved telling jokes, being ornery, telling stories of the 'good ole days', and watching the birds Betty would ask that in her memory, you would put on some good music, drink a cup of coffee, be bold; wear a piece of jewelry, put on your lipstick and look your very best everyday. Betty will be missed by her housemates, caregivers, those that she called family, as well as her guardian Jana. Betty was preceded in death by her love and husband, Franklin 'Sonny' David Helt, her father Frank Sweet and her mother Vida (Peck) Sweet, 2 sisters Mildred Deinger and Alice Stock, and 2 brothers Harlon Sweet and Gordon Sweet. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 10:00am MST, in the Ogallala Cemetery, with Rev. Curtis Tschetter, officiating.
