Andrew "Andy" Biel, 38, of Ogallala, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, in Great Plains Health of North Platte. Andy was born August 21, 1976, in North Platte, the son of Robert and Geraldine (Grigsby) Biel. He was raised on the family farm north of Ogallala and was a life long resident of Ogallala. After graduating from Ogallala High School in 1995 he attended the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture in Curtis. After graduation in May 1997 he worked on the family farm and operated a commercial trucking business. Andy enjoyed helping area farmers, neighbors, friends, and family and then later successfully operated his own farming operation. On April 2, 2005, Andy was united in marriage to Twila Marie Owen of Brule. The couple made their home in Ogallala. To this union was born a son Mason and a daughter Kailey. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. His hobbies included camping, hunting, and fishing. Andy especially enjoyed four-wheeling in the mountains and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his wife Twila and his children Mason (age 7) and Kailey (age 3); his father Robert Biel of Ogallala and his mother Geraldine Grigsby of North Platte. One brother Jim (wife Misty) Biel of Lewellen and one sister Julie (husband Brad) Johnson of Minden. Grandmother Rose Grigsby of North Platte; mother-in-law Nellie Owen of Brule. Sisters-in-law: Tina (Bryan) Winter of Dix, Tonia (Dana) Hansen of Broadwater, Teresa (Dale) Pinkston of Hastings, and Thelma (Brandon) Bullock of Brule. Brother-in-law Duane Owen, Jr. (wife Becky) of Juniata. Visitation will be Monday, October 27, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Fellowship Hall with Rev. John Stubenrouch officiating. Interment is in the Ogallala Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Andy's children's education fund.
