Alvina Collins- Bang Obituary Alvina A. Collins-Bang, 84, longtime Ogallala resident passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Ogallala Community Hospital September 27th, 2021. Alvina was born in Ogallala, Nebraska on October 30th, 1936 to Antone and Christine (Lange) Washa Sr.. Alvina started her schooling at the little country schoolhouse District #14 riding her horse, Happy. She graduated from Ogallala High School in 1954 where her extra-curricular activities included the Glee Club. Alvina was united in marriage December 30th, 1954 to Robert L. Collins. Their union brought forth 3 children. Bobby, Jim, and Tina. They spent 39 beautiful years of marriage farming the family farm. Alvina was pivotal in every aspect of farm life. From driving trucks, milking cows, to managing the essential details and everyday life of the estate. For a number of years, Alvina was an activist while serving many different positions in W.I.F.E. (Women in Farming and Economics) toastmasters, and the women of the moose. She also enjoyed being involved in the Red Hat Society "Red Hatters". In her free time, she loved playing pinochle, pitch and watching her two favorite sports tennis and football. Her early years consisted of being associated with the bowling league and she spent her golden era as an active partaker in the golf league. Alvina served her community as a prominent member of the District #14 School Board and Methodist church. Throughout Alvina's life, she was highly involved politically while assisting in numerous state and national campaigns along with inaugurations. For 18 years Alvina was happily married to Raymond Bang beginning May 30th, 1997, together they enjoyed every moment that life granted them. Alvina and Ray were able to travel across the country and enjoyed every site they came across. She loved good laughs, jokes and shared it all with her family. Survivors: Children: Bobby (Pam) Collins, Jim (Susan) Collins, Tina (Ron) Miller. Brother Dave (Melanie) Washa, Sister-in-law Judy Washa. Grandchildren: Molly (Hector) Morales, Tayler Collins, Tony (Hayley) Collins, E-5 Sargent Ronald Jr. (Lisa) Miller, Joseph Collins, Tanner Collins. Great Grandchildren: Aleksandr Morales, Hallei Morales, Jameson Collins, Marley Collins, Avyla Miller, and soon to be 6th great grandchild due in 2022. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friends that cared so well for her, Penny Forrester, Daisy Garcia, Tonya Miller, and Eilene Brott. Alvina was Preceded in death by husbands Robert Collins and Raymond Bang, parents Antone Sr. (Christine) Washa, brother Tony Washa Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00am - 6:00 pm at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel, in Ogallala with family greeting visitors from 4:00-6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 am from the United Methodist Church of Ogallala, with the Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. Burial will take place in the Ogallala Cemetery following the service. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church and to the Ogallala Women of the Moose.
