Alberta Drake, 86, of Peyton, Colo., and formerly of Ogallala, died April 11, 2013, in her home. Alberta was born July 20, 1926, in Ogallala, the daughter of Frank and Vera (Jeffery) Harris. She graduated from Ogallala High School. She married Stanley Wiseman and had one son John Wiseman. Stanley passed away and in 1969 Alberta married Walter Drake of Colorado Springs, Colo. Alberta was president of Walter Drake & Sons, a nationwide mail-order catalog company headquartered in Colo. Springs. They shared a love of exotic birds and raised generations of swan, peacocks, pheasants, and scale quail. She enjoyed attending social events and hosting gatherings in her home. Alberta liked the outdoors and her hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, traveling, home decorating, and shopping. Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant daughter Kathryn, both husbands, and siblings Blackie, Boyd, Jim, and Edna Harris, and Gertrude Cross. Survivors include one son John Wiseman and his wife Nancy of Missouri, and three grandchildren: Tim ( wife Marla) Wiseman of Colo. Springs, Colorado; Tamera (husband Brian) Spaulding of Joplin, Missouri, and Chris ( and wife Regina) Wiseman of Springfield, Missouri. Also five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colo. Springs, CO. 80906 The family chose cremation. The Memorial Graveside Service will be Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala Cemetery. Rev. Ray Weinerman of the Lewellen andOshkosh United Methodist Churches will officiate.
