Ruby Orr Stimson, 98 of Ogallala died Friday September 14th, 2018 at Indian Hills Manor.
She was born November 24, 1919, on a farm in Garden County near Lewellen, Nebraska. Her parents were Warren Harold and Alma C. (Boggs) Orr.
Ruby attended District #45 in Garden County and later attended District #26 in Keith County. She attended Garden County High School and then transferred to Ogallala High School for her last two years, graduating in 1937.
On June 10, 1937 Ruby married Gordon Stimson in Brady, Nebraska. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary. They resided in Valentine, moving to Ogallala in 1971. The couple owned and managed several rental properties.
They owned a bowling alley in Valentine, Nebraska for seventeen years. She was a long time care giver, caring for her grandma, parents, and husband. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Her hobbies included bowling, sewing, and fishing.
Preceding in her death was her husband Gordon in 1988, her parents, brother Warren Orr, and sisters Irma Stocker and Violet Schweizer.
Ruby’s family includes two daughters: Sandra Stimson and Myrna Archuletta, both of Ogallala; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and special friends Blain and Tammy Plunkett.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, September 29th at 2:00 pm in the Ash Hollow Cemetery at Lewellen. Rev. Chuck Rager of the United Methodist Church of Ogallala is officiating.
