Charles "Chuck" P. McDowell, III, age 68, of Ogallala, NE, entered into eternal life, Monday, September 9, 2019 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Chuck was born to Charles McDowell, Jr. and Aletha (Dreiling) McDowell, on March 10, 1951, in Hays, Kansas.
Chuck was a retired truck driver with 33 years of service to the Teamsters Union. He was a dedicated member of the Moose Lodge 1624 and the Moose Legion, where he received several awards for his services to the organization. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating with his family.
Chuck married the love of his life, Cheryl (Harding) McDowell on September 3, 1989. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by; his parents; and 2 sisters; Jackie and Judy.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Cheryl McDowell, of Ogallala; his 5 children; David (Tina) Carlson, of Brule, NE; Kevin Carlson, of Ogallala; Lanette McDowell, of Eagle Point, OR; Charles Peter McDowell, IV; Nikki (Nick) Sloan, all of Brighton, CO; 1 sister; Joyce Campbell, of Mesa, AZ; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Register book signing Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Memorial Services will be held, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest officiating.
The family chose cremation. Interment of the cremains will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Moose Heart Charities in his memory.
