Adam Dahlkoetter Obituary

Adam Dahlkoetter, age 37, died Friday, August 16, 2019 in his home in Ogallala, NE.

Adam was born April 20, 1982 in Ogallala, the son of Roger and Marilyn (Gordon) Dahlkoetter.

Adam graduated from Ogallala High School in 2001. He attended Mid Plains Community College and the University of Nebraska at Kearney. In the spring of 2008, Adam enlisted in the United States Navy Reserves as a Corpsman, and later advanced to Petty Officer Second Class. During his career with the Navy, Adam was deployed to Norfolk, Virginia where he worked in the Deployment Office preparing soldiers who were leaving for and returning from deployment. He continued his military career as a reservist where he served in many positions including CPR training instructor, TCCC training instructor and MHSB training instructor.

For the last five years, Adam worked at Banner Ogallala Medical Clinic as a Medical Assistant.

Adam was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included travel, ships, games, running, movies, cosplay, and collectibles. Adam was a quiet, caring person who was very close to family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents; Fred and Enola Gordon; Alfred and Irene Dahlkoetter; and brother-in-law Tyrel Grafford.

Survivors include his parents; Roger and Marilyn Dahlkoetter; 4 sisters; Jennifer (Jeffery) Stevens, all of Roscoe; Tracey (Jonathan) Brown, of Omaha, NE; Lindsey (Steven) LeMunyan, of Westminster, CO; and Greta (late Tyrel) Grafford, of Ogallala; nephews and nieces Curtis and Tory, Sydni, Conner, Savanna and Sara Stevens, Allison and Marissa Brown, Sophia, Nathan and Hailey LeMunyan, Morgan, Avery, Elijah and Colin Grafford; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A recitation of the rosary will be held, Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. from the St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala, with Father Bryan Ernest officiating.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held, Friday, August 23, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Luke's Catholic Church, with Father Bryan Ernest, officiating.

Interment will take place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska, Friday, August 23, 2019, 2:30 p.m. (C.T.) with Navy Military Honors.

 A memorial has been established in his memory.

Friends may stop by and sign the register book at the Draucker Funeral Home, Thursday, August 22, 2019, from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
