Patricia "Patsy" Jean (Noble) Kasten

The soul of Patricia "Patsy" Jean Kasten of Big Springs, was brought into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus, Monday, August 29, 2016. Pat died peacefully at the Sedgwick County Hospital, Julesburg, Colo. following surgery and a brief illness.

Pat was born February 14, 1948 at Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of John, Sr. and Jean (Lawrence) Noble. Her parents moved to New Mexico when she was young. It was in Roswell, New Mex. that Pat met and then married Albert L. Kasten on October 14, 1964. They were blessed with two sons, Albert, Jr. and Kristopher, and two daughters Vereena and Cindy.

Pat was a military spouse from January 1965 to January 1986 when her husband retired from active duty. In November 1990 Albert applied to the Concordia Theological Seminary at Ft. Wayne, Ind. and began studies for the Holy Ministry. After his ordination in 1995 Patricia became a wonderfully supportive "pastor's spouse." The Kastens moved to Big Springs in October 1999, serving Zion Lutheran Church and also St. John's Lutheran of Brule for several years. They returned to Big Springs in September 2014 and retired.

Pat was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Big Springs. Her interests included her husband, children, grandchildren, reading, and playing board and dice games with family.

Mrs. Kasten was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Becky and Betty Noble, and one brother Danny Noble.

Survivors include her husband of nearly fifty-two years, Albert Kasten, Sr., of Big Springs,two sons: Albert, Jr. (Michelle) of Roswell, New Mexico and Kristopher (Alexandria) of Big Springs; two daughters: Vereena Kasten of Brule and Cindy (husband "Bear") Norris of Socorro, Tex.; Three brothers: John Noble, Jr. and Steve Noble, both of Albuquerque, NM and Don (Patti) Noble of Lubbock, Tex. Two sisters: Brenda Sisneros (husband Abbas Al-Sakaini) of Albuquerque, NM and Sherry Posey of Roswell, NM.

Also 15 grandchildren: Alicia, Autumn, Amber, Shane, Briar, Kevin, Kayla, Jake, Thomas and Jonathon-Albert Kasten; Alejandro Jr., Veronica and Angel De La Rosa; Ernesto Franco, and Ben Juarez; and five great-grandchildren: Jacob and Isabella De La Rosa, and Sophira, Hillianna and Drago Franco.

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Friday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. in the Big Springs Zion Lutheran Church with The Rev. Trenton D. Christensen officiating.

Interment is in the Big Springs Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Big Springs Food Bank. Online Condolences may be sent by signing the register book. Service will be live streamed, for those unable to attend.
