Marvin E. House

Marvin E. House, 85, longtime Brule resident, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Marvin was born February 22, 1932 in Alliance, Nebr., the son of Roy and Faye (Hunsaker) House. Marvin attended Lakeside School through the tenth grade.

After graduating from Arthur High School in 1950 he moved to Denver. On July 11, 1951 Marvin married Jeaneen Hinton in Hyannis, Nebr. The couple made their home in Denver.

Marvin was employed at King Soopers as a meat cutter and later as a sausage maker. In December 1974 Marvin and Jean moved to Brule, Nebr. where he began a construction business and was the owner/operator until retiring in 1993.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Jeaneen in 2004, and his grandson Jessie Lee House in 1982.

Survivors include two daughters: Nancy (Butch) Millikin of Brule and Janis (Kent) Hulinsky of Granby, Colo.; two sons: Lee House of Lewellen and Jerry House of North Platte.
Sisters-in-law: Sally (Sid) Wheelock of Hayden, Colo.; and Gloria Hinton of Maud, Okla.; also five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews. Also caregivers and special friends: Mallory Demilt and Beth Hansmeier.

Marvin had chosen cremation. The graveside service will be Saturday, March 11, at one p.m. in the Brule Cemetery. Rev. Lisa Hadler of the Brule Congregational Church will officiate.
A memorial has been established to the Brule Ambulance Squad. Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book.
