Curtis Eugene Hood

Curtis Eugene Hood Sr., 69, of Ogallala passed away in his home on February 13, 2018.
Curtis was born on October 1, 1948 in Ogallala. Curtis was raised in Ogallala by his grandparents Lee and Claretta Douglass. Curtis attended Ogallala Public Schools.

As a young man Curtis worked for various farms and ranches in the area. In 1991 he started working for A&G Services until he purchased Daylight Donuts in 1996. Curtis and his family ran Daylight Donuts until closing in 2004. Curtis worked in the food industry until 2008 when he retired.

Curtis enjoyed fishing and hunting. Curtis was a collector of many odds and ends and he enjoyed tinkering and repairing leather/woodwork. His greatest love was his kids and grandchildren.

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Kristina Hood.


Survivors include four daughters Kendra Hood and Misty(Steve) McDaniels all of Ogallala, Tina Graham of San Bernardino CA, and Brandy Rowe and One son Curtis E Hood Jr. both of Lincoln; one brother Joe(Jackie) Steggs of Loma CO; and two sisters Merry (Ron) Hansen of Lakewood CO, and Charlette (Ralph) Casey of Ogallala; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be 10:00 AM  Friday February 16, 2018 in Draucker Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Baldwin of Paxton United Methodist Church officiating.  Cremation was chosen.

A memorial has been established to the Keith County Senior Center. Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book from which the service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
