Carol Lynn (Myhre) Morrell

Carol Lynn Morrell, 67, longtime resident of Arthur, died Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Indian Hills Manor of Ogallala. Carol was born November 10, 1949, in Casper, Wyoming, the daughter of Leonard M. and Leila Mae (Tribble) Myhre. She was the second of four children. Carol grew up in Midwest, WY, attended Midwest High School and received her GED in 1975. She worked as a cook at the Edgerton Cafe for several years.

Carol was united in marriage to Andrew Vean Morrell on March 18, 1989, in Midwest.  Andy and Carol relocated to Arthur, NE in 2002. 

Carol will be remembered for her cheerful disposition and contagious laugh. She truly loved everyone she met and openly expressed her love and gratitude. True to her kind heart, she was a contributor to multiple charities such as St. Jude Hospital, Boys Town, and American Diabetes, to name a few. She exhibited excellent culinary skills and enjoyed traveling, embroidery, ceramics and metal detecting. Carol loved to read and belonged to the Arthur Book Club.

Carol loved her family and was always eager to share stories about her home life. She also enjoyed learning about her ancestors and participated in genealogical research. Carol had a great memory and loved watching Western movies and TV shows and could recall character names and their screen names upon demand. She especially enjoyed playing cards and was an exceptional player.

Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She also belonged to the VFW Auxiliary Post 2291.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her older brother Gerald "Gary" Preston Myhre and her younger brother Larry Myhre.

Survivors include her husband Andy of Arthur, her younger brother Ben Myhre, and her step-children Shane (Shannon) Morrell, Brandi Morrell Graves, and Denelle (Wade) Fischer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carol loved people and will be missed by those who know her. Thank you, Carol, for a life well-loved. Cremation was chosen.

The Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 15, at 11 a.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located in Whitman, N E, on Highway 2, near mile marker 158. Barry Oats will conduct the service.

All friends and family are welcome to attend the service and a luncheon following the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Foundation. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is entrusted with the arrangements.
