 OBITUARY

 
Harry Graham, age 101, of Hershey and formerly of Sutherland, died February 19, 2008 in Hershey. 

Harry Edward Graham was born May 16, 1906 at Boelus, NE., the son of Fred and Effie Palmer Graham. Harry started his early education at Council Bluff, IA and attended several other schools.

On August 16, 1929 he was united in marriage to Mildred M. Halverstadt at Broken Bow, NE. The couple resided north of Cozad and northwest of Hershey until their move into Hershey in 1972.

Harry farmed for 45 years raising corn and sugar beets and feeding hogs and cattle. He also carried mail for five years, drove school bus at Hershey for several years, and worked for Olson Fertilizer until he was 80 years old.

He was a long-time member of the Hershey United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing bass in the choir. Harry also served as secretary-treasurer of the Hershey School Board.

Harry was an avid bowler and bowled 3 or 4 times a week. If he wasn't bowling he was playing cards or beating someone in a horse shoe game. His memory was incredible, even after 100.

Preceding him in death was his wife Mildred on March 19, 1996, his parents, two sisters Meryl Grisham and Marian Thomasen, a daughter Marilyn Parker, a grandson James Parker and a great-grandson Joshua Badgley.

Survivors include a son Gary Graham and his wife LaRae of Sutherland, a daughter Gaylin Graham of Hershey, and a son-in-law Harvey Parker of North Platte, seven grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and seven step great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. CST in the Hershey United Methodist Church with Rev. Harun Gatobu officiating.

Inurnment in the Hershey Riverside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Hershey United Methodist Church.
