 OBITUARY

 
Tyrel Grafford, 33, of Ogallala, died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Tyrel was born March 18, 1978 in Ogallala, the son of Thomas and Kathryn Willey Grafford. Tyrel graduated from Paxton High School in 1996. He then attended Chadron State College graduating in 2000 with a Criminal Justice Degree.

On June 8, 2002 he married Greta Dahlkoetter in St. Lukes Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Ogallala. Tyrel began work with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission as a seasonal employee in 1994. He was employed as a groundskeeper at Enders Reservoir for nearly a year. In 2002 he was named Superintendent II at the Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area. He has served as the Superintendent of the Lake Mac SRA since 2007.

He was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies included fishing with his sons, family, and friends; hunting; and watching Nebraska football.

Tyrel leaves an expectant wife Greta and his sons Morgan, (age 6), Avery (age 4), and Elijah (age 2), all of Ogallala; his parents Thomas and Kathryn Grafford of Keystone; his brother Logan Grafford of Paxton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger and Marilyn Dahlkoetter of Roscoe. Three sisters-in-law: Jennifer (Jeffery) Stevens of Roscoe, Tracey (Jonathan) Brown of Omaha, and Lindsey (Steven) LeMunyan of Bennett. Brother-in-law Adam Dahlkoetter of Roscoe. Also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents Helen and Bill Willey and Charles and Lillabelle Grafford.

Visitation will be Thursday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home.

A Wake Service will be Sunday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in St. Lukes Catholic Church.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 25, at 10 a.m. in St. Lukes Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest the Celebrant.

Interment is in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.
