 OBITUARY

 
Robert J. Moore, 85, of Ogallala and formerly of Arthur, died March 11, 2011 at Indian Hills Manor.

Robert Joseph Moore was born February 27, 1926 in East St. Louis, IL., the son of Lemuel and Magdalen Foerster Moore. Robert attended school there and graduated from high school in 1943.

He was drafted into the Navy and served in the Pacific on the Destroyer 509 Converse. After being discharged in 1946 he attended college in Yankton, SD. Robert graduated in 1950 with a teaching certificate.

Robert taught school in various locations including Ainsworth and Arthur. He retired from Arthur Schools in 1988 and then moved to Ogallala.

Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being a Rockies' fan.

Preceding him in death were two sisters Mary Angela Moore and Kathlyn M. Klamerus; and one brother Maurice Moore.

Survivors include a brother William Moore of Temple Hills, Maryland; a sister-in-law Phyllis Moore of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no viewing. Memorial Graveside Services will be Thursday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Ogallala Cemetery with Father Bryan Ernest of St. Lukes Catholic Church officiating. Military honors given by Keith County Veterans Organization.
