OBITUARY
Wyatt Evans, 72, longtime Ogallala businessman, died September 15, 2010 in the
Ogallala Community Hospital.

Wyatt was born November 29, 1937 in Ovid, Colo., the son of Carl and Jessie
Chase Evans. He attended school in Chappell and resided there until joining the
Army in March 1954.
On September 11, 1955 Wyatt married Darline R. White of Oshkosh. The couple
resided in Chappell until his deployment to Korea at the end of September 1955.
After being discharged in February of 1957 he returned to Nebraska and worked in
construction until moving to Puyallup, Wash. He was employed with the Boeing
Aircraft Division in Auburn, Wash.
In 1970 the Evans returned to Nebraska and settled in Ogallala. They purchased
the Tip Top Cleaners in April 1973 and operated it until retiring in March 2007.
Wyatt was the maintenance man at the Methodist Church from 1984 to 1988,
retiring due to health problems.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening. He especially enjoyed
smoking meat and making sausage. Wyatt was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, a charter member of the Ogallala Moose Lodge #1624, and a
previous member of the Ogallala Elks Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his parents, infant daughter Tammy, brother Kenny
Evans, and parents-in-law Harvey and wife Dorothy White, and brother-in-law
Floyd White.
Survivors include his wife Darline Evans of Ogallala, daughter Cindy (Riley)
Wilson of Anchorage, Alaska; son Tony Evans of North Platte; two brothers:
Dwight Evans of Oklahoma City, OK and Delbert (Joyce) Evans of Fort Morgan, CO.
One sister Quella Johns of Florida. Daughter-in-law Sally Evans of Ogallala.
Grandsons: Zach Evans of Kearney and Brent Evans of Champion. Granddaughters:
Megan Evans of Ogallala and Kenyon Rose Wilson and Calista Francis Wilson, both
of Anchorage, Alaska.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be
Monday, September 20 at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev.
Chuck Rager officiating.
Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Central Time, Sept. 20, at Fort McPherson National
Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors by the North Platte Veterans Honor
Guard and the Nebr. National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team. A memorial has
been established to the First United Methodist Church.
