OBITUARY
Harold E. Yonker, 77, of Arthur, NE, passed away September 11, 2010 at Good
Samaritan Nursing Home in Callaway, Nebraska.

Harold was born September 5, 1933 in Wallace, Nebr., to George and Faye (Umbenhower)Yonker.
He was raised on the family ranch near Hershey, Nebraska. He graduated from
Hershey High School in May of 1953.
In January of 1954 Harold joined the
U. S. Air Force. He completed his duties in Tampa, Florida and Ramy Air Force
Base in Puerto Rico. He was discharged from service in 1957 earning a National
Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
On July 9, 1955 Harold married Barbara DeWolf in Gering, Nebr. They celebrated
51 years of marriage in July, 2006.
After discharge from the Air Force, Harold and Barbara returned home and lived
on the family ranch at Dickens. In 1960 they purchased a farm near Oconto. In
1973 they moved to a ranch south of Chappell and lived there until 1987. They
lived for a short time in Oshkosh before buying the ranch in Arthur County in
1989.
He enjoyed working in the outdoors, raising livestock and fishing. Living on a
ranch was his life's dream and work.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Barbara, infant son Lynn,
brother Charles Yonker, and granddaughter Megan Trimmer.
Survivors include four daughters: Georgina (Terry) Buechler, Katherine (Marion)
Peterson, all of Big Springs; Linette (Jim) Corfield of Arnold; Lori (Frank)
Bertolino of Huachuca City, AZ. Six grandchildren: Lynn (Misty) Jepsen, Sarah
Trimmer, Rachel Trimmer, Alexandria (Chris) Cole, Candi Buechler, Kirby Corfield.
Six great-grandchildren: Jakob Demick, Kobe Demick, Keegan Beard, Clayton Beard,
Kaydence Haldeen, and Lily Haldeen. Two brothers: Clayton (Joane) Yonker of
North Platte, Darrell (Lil) Yonker of Maxwell.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Draucker
Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 14, at 1:30 p.m. in the Arthur
Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Keene officiating.
Interment will be in the Arthur Cemetery with military honors by the American
Legion E.J. Yates Post 207 of Arthur and the Keith County Veterans Organization.
A memorial has been established to the Arthur County Community Foundation.
Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is in charge of arrangements.
