 OBITUARY

 
Dixie Bogacki, 70, of Ogallala, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 in Premier Estates of North Platte, NE. 

Dixie Lee Bogacki was born February 21, 1940 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Eugene and Marsene Hart Akins. As a young child she moved to Torrance, Cal. with her family. In 1958 she graduated from Torrance High School.

On June 19, 1959 Dixie married Richard J. Bogacki in Torrance where the couple made their home. She worked at Teledyne and Hughes Aircraft. Dixie was also employed as an electronic technician in the aero space industry for several years. In the late 1980's Richard and Dixie managed several hotels in the Culver City area.

In 1994 Dixie moved to Ogallala and was employed part time at the Sutherland Power Plant. She retired in 2005. Dixie moved to Premier Estates in North Platte in 2009 due to health problems.

Her hobbies included spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, crafts, knitting, and traveling.

Preceding her in death was her husband Richard Bogacki, her parents, brother Eugene Akins, sister Rosie Baker, one grandchild Kimberly Bruce, and one great-grandchild Chance Bogacki.

Survivors include two daughters Sandra and her husband Tim Bruce and Teri Wogan, all of Ogallala. three sons Chester Bogacki of Central City; Joseph Bogacki of Ravenna; and Leroy Bogacki of North Platte. one brother Jim Akins and his wife Connie of Keystone; one sister Gwendolyn Forresh of San Pedro, Cal. Ten Grandchildren and four Great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no viewing. The Memorial Service will be Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. Rev. Eric Wait of New Hope Church will officiate. A memorial has been established in her memory.

Inurnment will take place in Torrance, Cal., at a later date.
