 OBITUARY

 
Lenard Coleby, age 60, of Ogallala and formerly of Newport Beach, CA. died February 15, 2009 in the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Lenard was born January 7, 1949 in Ottowa, Ontario, Canada, the son of George and Juliette LaBreaque Coleby. The family moved to San Bernardino, CA. where he attended school.

After graduating from high school in Newport Beach, CA. Lenard attended Orange Coast College for two years. He then transferred to Colorado University in Boulder where he also played football. After graduating in 1973 he returned to Newport Beach and opened a restaurant.

In 1978 he moved to San Jose, CA. and opened two more restaurants. He sold his businesses in 1980 and moved to Palm Springs. There he started a night club called New Balloons and operated it for five years.

He then relocated to Bremerton, WA and opened a hotel called Oyster Bay Inn. In 1987 Lenard moved to Cape Canaveral, FL and owned and operated a restaurant. In 1988 he moved to Seattle, WA and managed several businesses, before returning to Newport Beach. He opened the Bourbon Street Restaurant and sold it in 2000.

Lenard managed a department store in San Bernardino before moving to Ogallala in 2005 where he and a partner purchased the Grey Goose Lodge.

Survivors include his mother Juliette Emerson and her husband Harry of Costa Mesa, CA; and special friend Judy Denisse of Ogallala.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no viewing. There are no services scheduled.
