OBITUARY
Carol Schuessler, 88, longtime Brule resident, died November 12, 2009 at Indian
Hills Manor.
Carol was born November 17, 1920 north of Paxton, the daughter of Charles and
Marie Reichenberg Engelbrecht. Carol attended rural schools in Keith County
through the eighth grade. She then worked on the family ranch.
Carol married Francis Welch in North Platte and the couple made their home in
the Keystone Valley. Francis preceded her in death in 1975. She was employed as
a nurses aid at Indian Hills Manor.
On May 1, 1981 Carol married Emil Schuessler and they resided in Brule. In 1983
Carol retired from the Manor.
She enjoyed several fishing trips to Canada and Alaska. Carol was a member of
St. Johns Lutheran Church of Brule.
Preceding her in death was her brother Paul Engelbrecht.
Survivors include her husband Emil Schuessler of Brule, son Wallace Welch of
North Platte, daughter Frances (Kevin) Anstine of Central City.
Two brothers Carl Engelbrecht of Twin Falls, ID and Frank (Sheila) Engelbrecht
of Oak Grove, MO.
One sister Marlys (Robert) Harris of Lemar, CO and sister-in-law Lorraine
Engelbrecht of Ogallala. also eight grandchildren and numerous
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 13, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home.
Graveside Memorial Service will be on Monday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. CST. at the
North Platte Cemetery with Rev. Jon Dickmander of Brule St. Johns Lutheran
Church officiating.
A memorial has been established to the Brule Fire Department and Ambulance
Squad.
