Bob was born February 25, 1930 in Ogallala, the son of Robert L. and Alice Scheffeld Busteed. Bob graduated from Ogallala High School in 1948.

Bob graduated from Kearney State College in 1953. He married Norma Hille on April 24, 1954 in Torrington, WY. The couple made their home in Kimball, NE until 1956 when they moved to Ogallala. In 1957 they moved to Omaha where Bob was a manager for Travelers Insurance Co. They lived in Lincoln a few years before moving to St. Paul, MN. in 1967. After Bob retired from Travelers in 1979 the couple enjoyed traveling in Europe and Mexico.

In 1991 the Busteeds moved back to Ogallala and in 1996 moved to Rochester, MN. to be closer to their son Andy. The couple especially enjoyed their return trips to Ogallala to visit friends.

Bob's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and reading.

Preceding him in death was his wife Norma in 2006 and his brother Dick Busteed.

Survivors include his son Andy Busteed of St. Paul, MN., and his sister-in-law Marilyn Roberts and her three sons Patrick (Robin) Busteed, Mitchell (Suzanna) Busteed, and Scott (Kari) Busteed, all of Fort Collins, CO.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 17, from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. in the Ogallala First Congregational, United Church of Christ.

Revs. Lauran Heidenreich and Phil Ewert will officiate.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

Interment in the Ogallala Cemetery.
