Janice was born June 12, 1941 in McCook, NE, the daughter of Everett and Leona Burton Beard. She attended school in McCook.

She moved to Hastings and was a waitress at several restaurants. In 1985 Janice married Chuck Swanson. In 1990 Janice moved to Ogallala and was employed at Sip N Sizzle and Union 76 and also worked at Virgs Lounge in Brule.

Then in 1995 Janice retired and traveled with Chuck in his over the road trucking business.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Everett Dean Beard.

Survivors include her husband Charles 'Chuck' Swanson and her son Floyd Allen, both of Ogallala and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation. Cremation was chosen. Inurnment services will be at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Hastings, NE.
