 OBITUARY

 
Marie Nesvara, 85, longtime Ogallala resident, died August 5, 2008 in the Ogallala Community Hospital. 

Marie was born April 5, 1923 in Krompachy, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Karen and Elizabeth Perhacova Husek. When she was two years old the family moved close to Prague Czechoslovakia where she grew up. Marie also received her nursing education there.

Marie met Josef F. Nesvara, Sr. in Prague and they were married. The couple escaped communist occupation of Germany in 1948. They were held in a refugee camp for three years. Finally, in 1951 they immigrated to the United States. They traveled across the ocean during the holiday season and arrived in New York on January 6, 1952.

Marie and Josef arrived in North Platte, Nebraska on January 9, 1952 where they made their home. Josef worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. Mrs.

Nesvara worked as an obstetrics nurse in St. Marys Hospital in North Platte for twenty-one years. In 1957 Marie and Josef both became United States citizens. The couple moved to Ogallala in 1977.

Marie was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church. Her hobbies included cooking, knitting and playing table games.

Preceding her in death was her husband in 1992.

Survivors include two sons: Josef (Fonda) Nesvara, Jr of Ogallala and Josef W. Nesvara, III, of Granby, CO. Two daughters: Jana (Jim) Ridinger of Sherwood, AR and Alena Senkyrava of the Czech Republic in Europe, and daughter-in-law Petra Nesvara of Granby, CO. Marie was a special mom to three grandchildren whom she raised: Mike (Angie) Nesvara and Jeff (Nicki) Nesvara, all of North Platte and Missy Bittner of Ogallala; and other grandchildren include Lynda Most of Utah, Kenneth Ridinger of TX, and Bill Ridinger of AR. Also 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be Friday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. Father Bryan Ernest of St. Lukes Catholic Church will officiate.

Interment in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Lukes Catholic Church.
