OBITUARY
Dionisio G. 'Dion' Hernandez, age 83, of Ogallala, NE, died Sunday, August 10,
2008, at Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala, NE.

Dion was born October 8, 1924 in Sedgwick County, CO to the late Ignacio Hernandez and the late Maria (Granado) Hernandez.
He attended Ovid Public Schools.
Dion joined the Armed forces in December 1943 serving
in the Army as a Combat Infantryman during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

Dion received his Honorable Discharge in 1946 at which time he returned to Ovid, CO. He then joined the Civil Service and worked for the Sioux Army Depot in Sidney, NE.
Dion married Lydia Perez June 18, 1947 in Big Springs, NE. They made their home in Sidney, NE.
In 1964, Dion and his family were transferred to Sacramento, CA where they remained until 2002. Dion retired from the Civil Service in 1979 and went to work for Global Slicing Co., retiring in 1998. Dion and Lydia moved to Ogallala NE in 2002.

Eleven grandchildren and Three great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by his brother Fred Hernandez.
Visitation will be Thursday August 14, 9:00 a.m to 3:00
p.m. with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be Friday August 15, 10:00 a.m. at
the Julesburg Cemetery, Julesburg CO with
Military Honors by NE National Guard.
