OBITUARY
Billie Hoffer, 91, of Ogallala, died March 11, 2008 at Indian Hills Manor.

Billie Berel Hoffer was born September 10, 1916 in Thayer County, NE. and was adopted in 1919 by Charles C. and Linnie G. Shank Hoffer of Clarks, NE.
Billie grew up in the Clarks area. He married Florine L. Church on March 5, 1939. The couple resided in the Clarks area where they farmed. Billie also worked on the railroad and in later years he was a mechanic for John Deere Co. in Central City, NE.
In 1955 the Hoffers moved to Denver, CO and in 1970 returned to Clarks. In
1979 they moved to Ogallala and in 1981 returned to Denver. They relocated to Ogallala in 1999 to be close to their daughter and her husband.
Billie was baptized and became a member of the Clarks Methodist Church in 1950. He also was a member of the Masons and for a time served as secretary.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife of 61 years Florine, son Jimmie L. Hoffer, and sister Margie Yates.
Survivors include his daughter Karen and her husband Nick Nichols of Ogallala and daughter-in-law Marcella Hoffer of Garland, TX. Also six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. in the Ogallala First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Miller officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Bureau Cemetery near Clarks, NE. at a later date.
