OBITUARY
Leo Langmacher, age 86, longtime Brule resident, died April 2, 2008 in the
Ogallala Community Hospital.

Leo was born January 3, 1922 at Fort Morgan, CO., the son of Adam and Anna Funkner Langmacher. He attended Paxton School from Kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 1940.
In 1926 Leo moved with his family to the Sarben area to raise sugar beets.
He farmed with his father until entering the Army in November 1942. Leo served in the 819th Tank Destroyer Battalion in the Western Pacific. He was discharged in November 1945.
On June 28, 1948 Leo married Marian Perlinger at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Paxton. The couple remained near Sarben farming with family until they moved to a farm near Brule in 1959. They farmed in the Brule and Grant areas raising sugar beets, corn, pinto beans and wheat and also had a small feedlot.
Leo was a member of Ogallala St. Luke's Catholic Church and a member of the Paxton American Legion Post 303 for 62 years. He was a past member of the Brule Lions Club and served on the Brule Village Board and District 62 School Board.
In his retirement he enjoyed taking care of his large yard and garden and working in his shop.
Preceding him in death was his wife Marian, brother Harold, and his parents.
Survivors include two daughters:
Deb and her husband John Frates and Lynda and her husband Cecil Hinrichs, all of Brule. Three Grandchildren: Niki and her husband Aaron Salomon of Gothenburg; Anne and her husband Zach Even of Lander, WY. and Michael Frates of Seward and one great-granddaughter Avery Salomon.
Visitation will be Friday, April 4 from 9 a.m. to the time of The Wake and Rosary Service at 6 p.m. in the Draucker Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Lukes Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest the Celebrant.
Memorials are directed to the Brule Villagers Club for a community project.
Interment at 12:30 p.m. in the Paxton Cemetery with military honors given by Paxton American Legion Post 303.
