OBITUARY
Tony Sandoval, 74, of Ogallala, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 in Golden Ours
Convalescent Home in Grant.

Tony was born January 5, 1938 in Santa Fe, NM., the son of Andrellita Sandoval.
Tony was born blind.
Tony's schooling was at the University of New Mexico for the Visually Impaired
in Alamogordo, NM. He worked in the radio and music entertainment industry in El
Paso, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Taos, NM and in Denver, CO. While in Santa Fe
he owned and operated his own vending stand. He was an accomplished pianist and
organist.
After retirement he played for church and nursing homes, specifically the Pawnee
Hotel in North Platte. He also was involved in recording old time radio shows
and contributed these to Nostalgia Radio in Omaha.
Tony was saved by Jesus Christ, the Lord, at the First Brethren Church in Taos,
NM in 1970 where the pastor was Robert Salazar. Tony's hobbies included taping
old radio shows and radio production.
Preceding him in death were his mother and good friend Verta Robinson.
Survivors include his daughter Mary E. and her husband Cory Dunahue of Denver,
CO. and special friend Nancy Hoagland of Ogallala.
The family requests no viewing and cremation was chosen. A memorial service will
be Thursday, January 19, at 11 a.m. in the New Hope Worship Center. Rev. Eric
Wait will officiate.
