OBITUARY
Dennis Evert, 62, of Brule, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Swedish Medical
Center in Englewood, Colo. 
Dennis Chris Evert was born October 1, 1949, the second child of Roy and Erma
(Pearson) Evert. His early childhood was spent at Madrid until the family moved
to Brule in 1958. He graduated from Brule High School where he was very active
in athletics. Dennis was selected to the all-state football team when he was a
freshman. He also participated in basketball and track.
Dennis and Marilyn Barlow were married in 1967. To this union two children were
born, Patrick and Jolynn. The couple later divorced. In 1990 he married Ursula
Bormann.
Dennis worked for several area farmers serving in various capacities. He served
a short time in the
Army. In the mid 1980's Dennis was the assistant
superintendent during the construction phase of the prestigious 27-hole Gainey
Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. At the time of his death he was employed by
Sapp Brothers as a fuel transport driver. Dennis was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker
fan.
Preceding him in death was his wife Ursula in 1992 and his parents.
Survivors include his son Patrick Mogus and his fiancée Anita Bolz, both of
Ogallala; his daughter Jolynn and her husband Shane Woolery of Sterling, CO; his
sister LaVon and her husband Richard Kampfe of Sidney, his brother John Evert
and his special friend Kendra Huebner, both of Ogallala. Also five
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and one
great-niece; and special caregivers Gail, Lorree, and Mike.
There will be no visitation and the family chose cremation. A memorial service
will be Friday, February 3, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala New Hope Worship Center.
Revs. Eric Wait and Phil Ewert will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the
Brule Cemetery with
Military Honors rendered by Keith County Veterans
Organization.
