OBITUARY
Dorothy "Dot" Brewer, 83, of Ogallala and formerly of Sarben and North Platte,
died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Indian Hills Manor.

She was born January 27, 1928 in North Platte, the youngest of six children born
to Clarence and Elsie Lute Cline. Dorothy received her early education in North
Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in 1946.
On May 31, 1946 Dorothy was united in marriage to Marvin R. Brewer at Oberlin,
Kan. The resided in Sarben and raised two children, Dennis and Carolyn. Dorothy
began employment at Goodalls in Sutherland on July 30, 1953 and then transferred
to the plant in Ogallala, later to TRW and American Shizuki. She retired as a
Customer Service Representative on December 15, 1992. Marvin preceded her in
death on April 23, 1994. In 1998 Dorothy moved to North Platte and worked
part-time at the North Platte Bakery, Herbergers and the North Platte Visitors
Center for a few years. In December 2010 she moved to Wel-Life and in February
2011 to Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala.
Dorothy was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed being with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included upholstering,
sewing, crocheting, raising flowers, many do it yourself projects, and
collecting angels. She enjoyed playing Bunco and spending time with family and
friends. Dorothy enjoyed Paxton volleyball and watching the Nebraska Cornhusker
volleyball and football games.
She was a member of Paxton Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, RSVP, American
Legion Auxiliary, VFW, the Moose Lodge, and the Sarben Card Club.
Preceding her in death was her husband, her son Dennis E. Brewer in 1993, her
son-in-law John A. Lehl in 1973, two sisters Flossie Kesslar and Bertha Stone,
and two brothers Roy Cline and Evert Cline, and a special nephew Lavern "Sonny"
Kesslar.
Survivors include her daughter Carolyn (Jerry) Snyder of Paxton; daughter-in-law
Connie Brewer of Kearney; her sister Fern Cooper and sister-in-law Vera Cline,
both of North Platte; and five grandsons: Lance (Amy) Lehl and their daughter
Amaris, all of Spring Arbor, MI; Jaron (Heather) Snyder and their sons Jaden,
Carter, and Boone, all of Mitchell; Kevin (Jamie) Snyder and their children
William and Tabitha of Kersey, CO; Dane (Leticia) Brewer and their children
Matthew and Elizabeth, all of Pierre, SD and Nathan of Wichita, KS; Joedy (Pat)
Snyder and their son Miles, all of Ames, IA and their sons Kyle (Sara) Baker of
North Platte and Logan Baker of Omaha; and her granddaughter Julie (John)
Morback and their son John, all of Lincoln; and a special niece Frances "Sissy"
Scheuerman of Wichita, KS. And special friend Harold Peterson of Paxton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home The funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Trinity
Ev. Lutheran Church in Paxton. JA Welsh, Interim Lay Minister and Rev. Judy
Gifford will officiate. Interment is in the Paxton Cemetery.
