OBITUARY
Milton "Mick" Stafford, 85, of Denver, Colo., and formerly of Brule, died
Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his home.
He was born September 23, 1925 at the farm home near Brule. Mick received his
elementary education in rural grade schools and then in Lincoln schools.
Mr. Stafford entered the
Army Air Corps in January 1944 at Ft.
Logan, Colo. After being discharged on January 15, 1946 he attended the
University of Nebraska and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following
graduation he held several positions including county Extension Agent, grain
elevator manager, district sales manager for Mooreman Feeds, sales rep. for
Charles Pfizer Agriculture Division, and vice president and sales manager for
Feed Products of Denver for twenty years. After retiring from Feed Products he
was employed part time for several years as a pre-need sales rep. for Fairmount
Mortuary & Cemetery of Denver.
He was a member of the Brule Congregational Church and later at the Park Hill
United Church of Christ of Denver.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife Inez L. Stafford of Denver; five children: Cheryl
Groom, Sandra Stroehmann, and Neal Stafford, all of Denver; Wilson Stafford and
his wife Diane of Leawood, KS; and Janice Reynolds of Parker, CO. A brother
Bruce H. Stafford, Jr. of Greensboro, NC. Also seven grandchildren, two
step-grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Draucker Funeral
Home.
The Funeral Service will be Monday, September 19, at 2 p.m. in the United Church
of Christ, Congregational of Brule with Rev. Lauran Heidenreich officiating.
Interment is in the Brule Cemetery with military honors by Keith County Veterans
Organization. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 23, at 4 p.m. in
the Park Hill Congregational, United Church of Christ in Denver with Rev. David
Bahr officiating.
