OBITUARY
Larry Anderson, 66, longtime Ogallala resident, died Wednesday, September 21,
2011 in St. Lukes Presbyterian Medical Center in Denver, Colo.
Larry was born November 2, 1944 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, the son of Carl and
Virgie Mae Pinkston Anderson. When Larry was six months old the family returned
to Ogallala where Larry attended grade school and high school.
Larry joined the
US Navy on January 10, 1962. He
served in the South Pacific on the USS Taluga. After being discharged on April
6, 1966 Larry returned to Ogallala.
In the early 70's Larry began working for Murl Morrow in various capacities. In
September of 1994 Larry returned to school at Mid Plains Community College in
North Platte and graduated with a degree in Electronic Technology in May of
1996.
Larry was employed at Eakes Office Plus of North Platte until his retirement in
May 2011.
On January 10, 1980 Larry married Shari Sator and the couple made their home in
Ogallala. His hobbies included drag racing, fishing, and using new technology.
He belonged to the VFW Post #3755.
Preceding him in death were his parents Carl Anderson and Virgie Anderson Luedke,
step-father Leonard Luedke, sister Delores Bryant, and brother Bill Anderson.
Survivors include his wife Shari Anderson of Ogallala; two sons: Ty Anderson of
Ogallala and Treg Anderson of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter-in-law Mona Anderson
of Paxton; and four sisters: Carlene (Wayne) Spangler and Elaine Gretschel, all
of Ogallala; Sharon (Ron) Frickey of Madrid; and Bonnie Harms of Iliff, CO.
Mother-in-law: Lois Ann Sator of Ogallala. Also four grandchildren: Schyler
Anderson of North Platte, Logan Anderson of Paxton, Reese Erbert of Paxton, and
Drey Anderson of Denver, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
There will be no visitation as cremation was chosen. The memorial service will
be Tuesday, September 27,at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of
Ogallala with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. Military honors will be rendered by
the Keith County Veterans Organization.
