 OBITUARY

Geneva Brown, 86, of North Platte and formerly of Paxton, died September 6, 2011 at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.

Geneva A. Brown was born September 19, 1924 in Perkins County, Nebraska, the daughter of Henry and Christina (Oleson) Ott. She grew up and attended schools in Perkins County and Grant.

On March 1, 1944, Geneva married Howard Brown in North Platte. To this union three daughters were born. Geneva accompanied Howard to several bases in the States as he served in the Army from 1944 to 1946. They made their first home in Ogallala and then moved to the Arthur area in 1950. In 1962 they moved to the Birdwood Ranch north of Paxton. In 1978 they bought a home in Paxton and then moved to North Platte in 2007.

Geneva enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook, loved being outdoors and could make anything grow in her garden. She also enjoyed watching wildlife, especially the birds that could always count on a good meal on Geneva's porch.

Preceding her in death were her parents, four brothers: Wilbur, Luke, Kenneth and Jack Ott; and three sisters Mabel Barnes, Dorothy Knott, and Gladys Petersen.

Survivors include her husband Howard Brown of North Platte; three daughters, Marlene (Ron) Rowlette of North Platte, Christine Bobo of North Platte, and Renee (Doug) Fleecs of Greeley, CO.
Eight Grandchildren: Michelle Settles, Darren Rowlette, Matthew Bobo, Sara Bobo, Amanda Porter, Emily Wilson, Mitchell Fleecs, and Jacob Fleecs; and two great-grandchildren: Austin Settles and Ainsley Porter.

The family chose cremation and there will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell on Friday, September 9, at 2 p.m. Central Time. The memorial service will be Saturday, September 10 at 10 a.m. in Draucker Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Rager of the Ogallala First United Methodist Church officiating.
