OBITUARY
Judy Fester, 66, longtime Ogallala resident, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, in her
home.
Judy was born March 18, 1945 in Lexington, Nebr., the daughter of Vernon "Pat"
and Margery Hollibaugh Purintun. She received her early education in Gothenburg
and graduated from high school in 1964.
She attended cosmetology school in Kearney. Judy operated an in home day care
after being employed at TRW from 1965 to 1976.
On June 30, 1968 Judy married Larry Fester in Gothenburg. The couple made their
home in Ogallala and in 1976 adopted a newborn baby boy whom they named Wayne.
Her hobbies included sewing and knitting and she especially enjoyed Husker
football and taking family camping trips Judy was a fifty year member of the
Methodist Church and as a teenager was confirmed in her faith in Gothenburg.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband Larry Fester and her son Wayne Fester, both of
Ogallala. Two sisters: Janis (Jerry) Taylor of Phillips, Nebr.; and Jolene (Al)
Jankowski of Omaha, Nebr., and one brother Jerry (Clydene) Purintun of Yukon,
Okla. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home.
The Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 4, at 10 a.m. in the First United
Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.
A memorial has been established to the Ogallala First United Methodist Church.
