OBITUARY
Jean Linstrom, 87, longtime Ogallala resident, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at
Indian Hills Manor.

Dorothy Jean Linstrom was born January 25, 1924 at Crete, Nebr., the daughter of
Guy and Anna Rezabek Rine. She attended Crete Public Schools and graduated with
the Class of 1941.
She was united in marriage to Lyle Linstrom on February 17, 1945 at Crete. The
couple resided in Omaha, Crete, Valentine and Ogallala. During their stay in
Omaha, Jean was baptized at the Bemis Baptist Church.
Jean and Lyle raised four daughters: Judy, Connie, Karen, and Marla. Mrs.
Linstrom was employed by TRW, Shelter Insurance, and also operated an in home
daycare. She enjoyed the neighborhood children and loved baking with them on
special holidays.
She was a member of the
Ogallala Pink Ladies for 19 1/2 years. Jean served as a Welcome Wagon Hostess
for several years, bowled on the afternoon bowling league, and was an after
school volunteer at West Fifth School.
Jean enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent time
reading, putting puzzles together, and enjoyed her friends. She moved to WEL-Life
in 2008 and to Indian Hills Manor in April of 2011.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lyle E. Linstrom, her
daughter Connie J. Patterson, her brother Melvin Rine, her sister Lillian Wienke,
and grandson Chad L. Markussen.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Buck) Markussen of Keystone; Karen
(Loren) Unruh of Moundridge, Kan., and Marla (Gary) Kraft of Lincoln; eight
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and
nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be Monday, August 1, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala First
United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.
