Obituary

 
Mr. C. Clayton Cole, age 75, longtime resident of Brule Nebraska, passed away on June 15, 2011 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant, NE.

C. Clayton Cole was born February 9, 1936 in Ogallala, NE, to Carl and Ruby (Blair) Cole. He was raised on the family farm north west of Brule, NE. He attended District 46 County School and Brule High School, graduating in 1953.

Clayton farmed with his family until January 1955 at which time he enlisted in the Army. He served in Verdun, France. He returned state-side and was honorably discharged in 1957. He then went back home to the family farm.

Clayton married Irl Dresslar on April 28, 1957 in the St. Pauls Lutheran Church. They made their home on the family farm in Brule.

Clayton was an active member of the New Hope Church in Ogallala. He loved flying, gardening, flowers, yard work, his music and playing the piano. He enjoyed working in his shop as well.

Clayton is survived by his beloved wife, Irl Cole, of Brule, NE and
Two sons; Kevin (Tammy) Cole of Brule and Kyle (Sherry) Cole of North Platte, NE.
One daughter; Carol (Pete) Yerdon of Cape Coral, FL
Two sisters; Betsy Shera of Plattsmouth, NE and Darlene (Max) Peterson of Ogallala, NE
Two grandsons; Korey Cole of Brule, NE and Cody Cole of Kearney, NE
Four granddaughters; Alexis Cole of Lincoln, NE; Heather Yerdon of Cape Coral, FL;
Kallan Cole of Brule, NE; and Alyssa Cole of North Platte, NE
as well as a host of other family and lifelong friends.

Funeral Services for Clayton Cole will be Saturday June 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the new Hope Worship Center, 319 East O Street, Ogallala, NE with Pastor Eric Wait and Pastor Phil Ewert officiating.

Friends may sign the register book on Friday June 17, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home, Ogallala. Interment will be in the Brule Cemetery with military honors by the Keith County Veterans Organization.

A memorial has been established for the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Brule, NE and the New Hope Worship Center of Ogallala, NE.
