 OBITUARY

Robert Donald "Bob" Lineback, 87, longtime Keystone resident, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

Bob was born February 15, 1924 to Murl and Emily Lettereste Lineback. Bob attended school to the eighth grade at District 58, nine miles north of Lemoyne. After working around the area for a few years, he went to National Youth Administration, a school near Kearney where he learned welding and blue print reading. He served in the
Navy during WWII.

On June 12, 1948 Bob married Evelyn Knudsen and one son Robert Timothy was born to this union. The couple made their home first in Ogallala, then Keystone, and later moved north of Keystone. Bob and Evelyn had been married 56 years at the time of her death in 2004.

Bob worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in November 1986. He also ran a cattle operation on the Knudsen farmstead for many years which he humorously dubbed as Oleo Acres-one of the cheaper spreads.

He was a long time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Keystone and was an ordained Elder. Bob belonged to the Gideons International and the National Rifle Association. Bob was an avid sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was especially gifted at reciting poetry and song. In recent years he enjoyed dancing and traveling. He took pride in Tim's and the grandchildren's accomplishments.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Evelyn, brothers Earl, Raymond, and Howard; and sisters Opal, Fern, and June.

Survivors include his son Tim Lineback of Sidney, four grandchildren: Tiffany, Ethan, Zane, and Freeman, and one great-grandchild Hadashah, special step-granddaughters Chithay and Tyree; his sister Berta Bell and her husband Glen Nelson of Gering, brother-in-law Burton (Pat) Knudsen of Wahoo; several nieces and nephews, his special friend Lillian Welden and her family Lee and Jay of North Platte and Donna, Lynnell and Crystal of Texas.

Visitation will be Monday, May 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. in Keystone Presbyterian Church. Ron Jay will officiate. Interment is in the Lemoyne Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Keystone Presbyterian Church. Online Condolences may be sent by clicking here.
