OBITUARY
Verta Robinson, 97, longtime Ogallala
resident, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Indian Hills Manor.

Verta was born February 12, 1913 at Sterling, Colo., the daughter of Corda A.
and Florence E. Case Jones. She received her early education at Lamar, Nebr. and
attended high school in Imperial, Nebr.
In 1930 Verta married Harold Colson and one child was born to this union. She
moved to Denver in 1930 where she was employed as a secretary and sales person
in the real estate industry. Verta married Gerald D. Robinson in the early
1960's. Verta moved to Harlingen, Texas in 1966 where she worked for the Amen
Mission in Old Mexico for five years. Upon her husband's death she returned to
Denver where she managed apartments and sold real estate. Verta retired in 1990
and moved to Ogallala.
Verta was saved at the First Baptist Church in Sterling in January 1939. An
evangelist by the name of Rose was preaching. Her hobbies included gardening amd
canning and she enjoyed selling real estate. Verta was a member of Lighthouse
Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands Harold Colson and Gerald
D. Robinson, son Lloyd F. Colson, and brother Glenn Jones.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law Helen Laws and her husband Gib of Lemoyne;
a sister Emma M. Colson of Imperial, NE.; two grandchildren: Larry (Candy)
Colson of Folsom, CA, and Debra (John) Bisant of Littleton, CO.; six
great-grandsons and special friends Tony Sandavol of Ogallala and Harold Sellers
of Phoenix, AZ.
There will be no viewing, but friends may sign the register book on Friday, Dec.
3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be
Saturday, December 4, at 10:30 a.m. in Draucker Funeral Home with Pastor John
Howe of the Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be Monday, December 6, at 10 a.m. in the Crown Hill Cemetery in
Denver. A memorial has been established in her name to a missions project.
