OBITUARY
Dwaine Most, 76, lifetime Keith County farmer, died February 12, 2010 at Indian
Hills Manor in Ogallala.

Dwaine was born at the home of his parents, Fred William and Elizabeth
Fredericka (Blomenkamp) Most on
April 11, 1933. He received his education at District 22 rural school through
the eighth grade. He was baptized on October 8, 1933 by Rev. R.E. Blau at St.
John's Lutheran Church, southeast of Ogallala. On May 5, 1946 he was confirmed
into the Lutheran faith at St. John's Church by the Rev. G.H. Boehnke.
After Dwaine graduated from Ogallala High School in 1950 he farmed and ranched
with his dad. He and his
brothers Ronald and Keneth formed the name of Most Brothers Farm and worked
together until they retired.
Dwaine was united in marriage to Charlotte Mae Sexson on March 1, 1953 in the
Grant Methodist Church.
To this union three children were born.
Dwaine served in several capacities in the church including Elder, President,
and Trustee. He volunteered in
many ways through the years, including helping with the installation of the
elevator in the Church. He was a member and president of the Keith County Farm
Bureau and member and president of the Keith County Ag Society for more than 33
years during which time the Indoor Arena and the Exhibit Hall were built at the
fairgrounds. Dwaine was a member and president of the Keith County Coop
Association for many years and was on the school board of District 7. In 1968 he
became a member of the Nebraska Flying Farmers and Ranchers and served all the
offices of the chapter as well as being chosen Man of the Year, and also
received the hospitality award.
Dwaine studied and became a radiologic monitor for Keith County, working with
the Fire Department. At one time he built many citizens band radios which were
used during emergencies, and as a member of the Trails End CB Club worked to
help organize the Keith County Fair parade.
After Dwaine received his private pilot's license he spent many hours flying the
pastures in the J-3 Cub, and taking many trips in the Cherokee 180 with the
International Flying Farmer members. He also printed the newsletter for the
group, helped sponsor the Junior Flight Contest for kids at convention and
helped sponsor the ice cream social each year.
His hobbies included smoking meat for many occasions including the Keith County
Fair and the Perkins County Fair and he enjoyed making candy for Christmas
gifts. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many school activities and
functions.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Keneth Lee Most.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte Most of Ogallala; two daughters Marcia
(Ted) Barnhill of Ogallala and Kamie (Scott) Wise of Lawrence, KS; and one son
Dennis (Loyce) Most of Ogallala. One sister Harreette (Richard) Kurkowski of
Grant; and one brother Ronald (Kathleen) Most of Ogallala. One sister-in-law
Carol Most of Ogallala. Nine grandchildren: Jaret (Lora) Barnhill, Jason (Erin)
Barnhill, JoLynn Barnhill; Melissa, Tyrel, and Cody Most, Nicholas (Mackenzie)Young;
Michelle (Drew) Peterson, and Marshall Miller. Two great-granddaughters: Kastyn
Young and Jalie Barnhill.
Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 14, from Noon to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home. The Funeral Service will be Monday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. John's
Lutheran Church, southeast of Ogallala. Rev. Robert Pierce will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. John's Lutheran
Church. Interment in St. Johns Cemetery.
