OBITUARY
Alice M. Berryman, 91, longtime Ogallala resident, died April 9, 2010 at Golden
Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.

Alice was born September 20, 1918 in LaJunta, CO., the daughter of Harvey and
Margaret Bouvard Van Galder. Alice received her early education in Colorado and
then attended the University of Kansas where she studied art.
She married Cecil Rogers in Kansas and to this union two children were born,
Cecil Richard Rogers and Deanna Carol
Rogers. Alice was employed at Owens Flower Shop and Greenhouse in Lawrence, KS.
Alice married Earl Hubbard and they made their home in Keene, KS. They showed
their AQHA stallion, Hackberry Red
and offspring across the nation. He preceded her in death and is buried in
Dover, KS.
In 1977 Alice married Wilton "Bud" Berryman in North Platte. They made their
home southeast of Arthur, raising Hereford cattle and quarter horses. The couple
bought a house in Ogallala in 1984, sold their cattle and semi-retired.
Alice was a past president of the Sandhills chapter of the DAR, a member of the
Seventh Day Adventist Church of Ogallala, and served as a 4-H header. She was
also a past president of the Nebraska Cowbells Association and enjoyed promoting
the benefits of beef. Other hobbies included doing needlepoint, knitting,
weaving, beekeeping, and tending her flower gardens.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Earl Hubbard, and seven
siblings.
Survivors include her husband Wilton "Bud" Berryman of Ogallala, her daughter
Deanna Rogers of Oshkosh, her son Cecil Richard "Bud" Rogers of Big Springs.
A sister Maxine Krebel of WY. Two step-sons: Merlin Hubbard and Donald (Joan)
Hubbard, all of Maple Hill, KS.
Also three granddaughters, three grandsons, six great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at Draucker Funeral
Home with Rev. Curtis Tschetter of the First Baptist Church officiating.
A memorial has been established to the DAR Sandhills Chapter of Hyannis.
Interment in the
Dover Kansas Cemetery is 11 a.m. Central
