OBITUARY
Warren Plummer, 86, of Ogallala, died December 9, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Regional
Medical Center in Lincoln. 
Warren was born June 3, 1923 in his Keith County family home in the hills north
of the North Platte river, the son of Thomas T. and Ada Gertrude Buzzell
Plummer. Warren was baptized on July 3, 1932 in Old Lemoyne. As a youth he lived
on several ranches in the north river valley and Lemoyne and attended Lemoyne
schools. When the Lake filled the Plummer family moved into Ogallala and Warren
graduated from Ogallala High School in 1939. Warren was confirmed in his faith
on August 22, 1976 in St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ogallala.
Warren served in the
Navy for a short time in 1944 but became ill and then was discharged. Warren
worked in Wyoming doing construction and then returned to Ogallala where he
ranched with Tom Plummer, Sr. He also worked ferrying Piper airplanes along with
Rex Harris from the factory in Pennsylvania to the Ogallala area for prospective
buyers. On April 3, 1948 Warren married Wilda "Billie" Hackbarth at St. Pauls
Lutheran Church. The couple farmed, ranched, and operated a feedlot in Keith
County, in partnership with his brother Tom, Sr. and nephew Tom, Jr.. He also
was in the house moving business for a number of years.
Warren was a member of the Ogallala
Elks
Lodge and the Brule
Lions
Club.
Preceding him in death were his wife Billie in 1990, infant brother Marion,
brothers Tom J. Plummer, Sr. and Jacque Plummer, and one sister Maxine Viola.
Survivors include two sons Keith Plummer and his wife Arlis, and Kent Plummer
and Vicky Johnson, all of Lincoln. Four Grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jessica) Plummer
of Omaha; Christopher Plummer of Lincoln; Koren Plummer, PharmD. of Sioux City,
IA; and Ian Plummer of Lincoln. A sister-in-law Betty Harris of Lincoln. Also
two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 13, from 1 to 6 p.m.at Draucker Funeral
Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 14, at 10 a.m. in St. Pauls
Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Pierce officiating.
Interment in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Pauls
